"Where Silence Is Expressed"

Well Being Retreat Center Facilities

The Well Being Center's meeting room is a large, vaulted, air-conditioned space with views across the Powell River valley. Meals are served from our licensed commercial kitchen and dining room in the same building. There is a huge deck for outside dining. The Meeting Room can seat over 50 people (or up to 18 Yoga mats). There are plenty of comfortable padded chairs, Yoga mats, pillows, blankets, cushions and backjacks. The Meeting Room has wifi, a flat screen wall-mounted TV, voice amplification system, and beautiful Persian carpets. Eleven Cabins & Cabinettes sleep up to 28 people.

NOTE: The main Well Being conference building is also available for workday meetings, day workshops, and supper events. See Pricing for these types of events here.

Full Service meals are prepared and served fresh in our licensed commercial kitchen at Well Being Center. We serve vegetarian or non-vegetarian meals, or non-vegetarian with a vegetarian option at each meal - your choice. Nearly all of our recipes are gluten-free and mostly organic, often from our garden in the warmer months. We provide assorted herbal and black teas, coffee, fruits, mixed nuts and homemade sweet loafs (such as almond banana loaf) throughout the day. Click here for a more detailed information on Meals

                     Retreat Lodging

Retreat Center Cabins

There are five Cabins and six Cabinettes that together can sleep up to 28 people. Pricing varies depending on lodging amenities. All Cabins have tiled floors, vaulted pine ceilings, kitchenettes with fridge, unlimited (on demand) hot water, and very comfortable beds. The Wood Duck is the largest cabin with a full size kitchen, dining and living area. The other four cabins are earth-sheltered with sod roofs which keep the cabins warm in the winter and cool in the summer. (Deer will sometimes graze on the rooftops.) These cabins are sheathed with rough-sawn, locally harvested Red Oak lumber which will fade to gray in color but will naturally last for many decades without paint or stain.

Wood Duck Cabin (4) - Two Bedrooms each with two extra long twin beds, shared bath

Purple Martin Cabin (4) - Two Bedrooms each with two extra long twin beds, shared bath

Blue Heron Cabin (4) - Two Bedrooms, each with two XL twin beds, shared bath

Kingfisher Cabin (1 or 2) - One Bedroom with Queen Bed

Chickadee Cabin (1 or 2) - Studio with Queen Bed

There are five brand new Tiny Houses. Each sleeps 2 persons. Each has a private bath, small kitchenette and a deck with a great view of the Cumberland hills stretching for miles.

                                  Retreat Center Cabinettes

Our Cabinettes are the most affordable indoor lodging option for retreats. They are located under a mature tree canopy within 60 yards of the Well Being Center. The six Cabinettes can sleep a total of 12 people. Each Cabinette has two extra long twin beds, a mini-fridge, a ceiling fan and plenty of ventilation. These buildings are well-insulated and stay warm in the winter and relatively cool in the summer. The bathrooms are in the Retreat Center Building just very short walk away where there are large, separate men's and women's bathrooms, both with showers and unlimited (on demand) hot water. More pictures of the Cabinettes here...

We are a licensed campground and this is the most economical lodging option. We maintain about 1/4 mile of mowed (almost) level pasture directly on the banks of the scenic Powell River. There is potable water and electric connections at the adjacent barn. There are also climate controlled, separate men's and women's bathrooms a short walk away (depending on where you set up your tent) at the Powell River Pavilion.

                     Powell River Pavilion

The Powell River Pavilion is Well Being's newest event venue. It is located directly on the banks of the Powell River and includes covered picnic table seating for 50 people overlooking the river, a stage, a barbeque grill, a wood fired pizza oven, an auxiliary commercial kitchen for onsite food prep, and a large format chess game (with two foot tall chess pieces). This venue is suitable for Yoga, QiKung, picnics, dances, family reunions, cookouts, and pizza parties.
