Well Being Retreat Center Facilities

Special Considerations in the Age of COVID

In this Age of COVID, Well Being Retreat Center is ideally suited to providing as safe facilities as possible for your group or personal retreat. Our 1,800 square foot open air Powell River Pavilion on the banks of the scenic Powell River avoids the dangers of shared indoor air and offers an outstanding scenic setting surrounded by nature. Electrical outlets and lighting are of course provided. The site boasts a natural breeze and overhead fans are present should the breeze be insufficient.

The Pavilion is served by a Commercial Kitchen where three meals a day are available for group retreats. Meals are freshly prepared and individually served at large scale picnic tables under the open-air Powell River Pavilion. Men's and Women's bathrooms are also directly adjacent to the Pavilion. During colder months electric stadium blankets and heated foot pads are available.

Well Being Retreat Center has 11 cabins and three Cabinettes that can sleep 14 individual people or up to 25 people with couples or roommates that agree to room with each other. The cabins are sanitized using ozone generators between uses and then be cleaned with disinfectant spray on high touch surfaces and provided with fresh linens and towels. In addition, all cabins will enjoy a three day minimum vacancy between uses.

Masks are worn by WBRC staff when preparing and serving meals and when cleaning cabins. All persons arriving for group events will be asked the standard COVID exposure questions and be checked for fever.

Six Cabinettes located a very short walk from the Retreat Center

Our Cabinettes are the most affordable indoor lodging option for retreats. They are located under a mature tree canopy within 60 yards of the Well Being Center. The six During COVID restrictions we are limiting Cabinette capacity to three people (single occupancy only) for retreats. Each Cabinette has two extra long twin beds, a mini-fridge, a ceiling fan and plenty of ventilation. These buildings are well-insulated and stay warm in the winter and relatively cool in the summer due to the huge tree canopy overhead. The bathrooms are in the Retreat Center Building just very short walk away where there are large, separate men's and women's bathrooms, both with showers and unlimited (on demand) hot water. More pictures of the Cabinettes here...Note that Cabinettes are not available for Personal Retreats.

AT Shelters.JPG

We are a licensed campground and this is the most economical lodging option. We maintain about 1/4 mile of mowed (almost) level pasture directly on the banks of the scenic Powell River. There is potable water and electric connections at the adjacent barn. There are also climate controlled, separate men's and women's bathrooms a short walk away (depending on where you set up your tent) at the Powell River Pavilion. The AT Shelters are also available for tent-free camping at the same price as the tenting option.

Conference Building

Plants in the Meeting Room create a meditative atmosphere for retreats

During this period of COVID, the Conference Building is not available for use.

The Well Being Center's meeting room is a large, vaulted, air-conditioned space with views across the Powell River valley. Meals are served from our licensed commercial kitchen and dining room in the same building. There is a huge deck for outside dining. The Meeting Room can seat over 50 people (or up to 18 Yoga mats). There are plenty of comfortable padded chairs, Yoga mats, pillows, blankets, cushions and backjacks. The Meeting Room has wifi, a flat screen wall-mounted TV, voice amplification system, and beautiful Persian carpets.
