"Where Silence Is Expressed"

Tennessee Cabin Rentals

There are five Rental Cabins to choose from at Well Being Retreat Center. The Cabins all have views down to the river which surrounds this 160-acre site for 2 1/2 miles. Cabin rental guests are welcome to explore the grounds, hike to the wide vistas at the hill top, witness the abundant wildlife, rent a kayak, or simply sit quietly at the river's edge

Our cabin design philosophy is rustic on the outside, comfortable on the inside. First time guests are often surprised when they enter the cabins to see how nicely finished they are. And quiet. Our nearest neighbor is about a half mile away. If you've never been in a location where man-made sounds are nearly always absent, it is a profound sensation.

Many people report being able to sleep better than they ever do at home. Perhaps it’s the deep silence or maybe it’s the lack of background electro-magnetic (EMF) waves that are said to be prevalent in most cities. Or maybe it’s just that the beds are comfy. (When you are sound asleep you won’t be wondering about the reason anyway.)

All our Cabins have tiled floors, vaulted pine ceilings, outfitted kitchenettes, unlimited (on demand) hot water, and very comfortable beds. The Wood Duck is the largest cabin with a full size kitchen, dining and living area. The other four cabins are earth-sheltered with sod roofs which keep the cabins warm in the winter and cool in the summer. (Deer will sometimes graze on the rooftops.)

These Cabins are sheathed with rough-sawn, locally harvested, Red Oak lumber which will fade to gray in color but will naturally last for many decades without paint or stain.

NOTE: Please do not bring dogs or cats, weapons, alcohol or illicit drugs onto the land.

To summarize:  The cabins are rustic on the outside; nice on the inside. But be warned: quiet is what you will find here. There are no phones in the cabins, no TVs, no pool tables, no video games. If you are looking to party, this isn’t the right place. However, if you are looking to experience deep peace in a natural setting, well…we can offer that in full measure!

Campground

Camping Setting

We are a State of Tennessee licensed campground. Tent camping is available along the banks of the Powell River. We maintain about 1/4 mile of mowed (almost) level pasture where you can pick a spot to set up your tent. We also have one RV hook-up (electric and water but not sewer). There are potable water and 120 Volt electric outlets at the adjacent barn and at the top of the concrete access steps to the river. There are also climate controlled, separate men's and women's bathrooms a short walk away (depending on where you set up your tent) at the Powell River Pavilion.

There are also two barbeque grills available (bring your own charcoal) and the steps to the river are right next to the camping area.

Bathrooms for Campers

At the Powell River Pavilion, there are also climate controlled, separate men's and women's bathrooms with showers. Showers have plenty of hot water, soap, and shampoo, but bring your own towels. These bathrooms are a short walk away from the camping area (depending on where you set up your tent).

Camping Fees

Tent Camping: $25 per night per tent

RV Camping: $35 per night per RV
