"The Essential Realization"

a Weekend Retreat of Exploration

with Don Oakley & Patty Bottari â€‹â€‹

March 6 - 8, 2026

Retreat Overview

"The Essence of Spirituality is to discover - for yourself - what is living this life. We can easily name things that we do, but if we don't know who it is that is doing all these things, it begs the questions: "Who is all this activity really for?"

This essence has been called by many names (spirit, soul, True Nature and so on). The name we give is not important, but the firsthand encounter with that will be surprising and life-changing."

Who This Retreat Is For

This retreat is for anyone with a sincere interest in discovering what this life is truly about and who, or what, is living it.

The retreat is non-denominational, but Don will draw on useful pointers from all major wisdom traditions.

No previous meditation experience or spiritual practice is required, although the program will offer value to practitioners with all levels of experience.

What You Can Expect

  • Don will speak during periods of guided meditations and discourses

  • He will also lead dialogue sessions where any question you may have can be asked

  • Patty will lead the silent sitting (meditation) periods.

  • All the sessions are voluntary, of course, but we ask that you remain engaged and present for the duration of the retreat.

Live Streaming Option

  • Can't attend the In-Person Retreat?  We now offer a Livestream option where you can attend the retreat online through Zoom.

  • Those attending by Livestream will have access to the entire weekend except the in-person Friday evening introductions and the final Sunday group sharing. However, there will be a special Zoom session Friday Afternoon at 1:00 pm Eastern where Don will introduce the retreat weekend and respond to any questions you may have.
