What is the closest airport to Well Being Retreat Center?The closest airport is in Knoxville (Tyson-TYS), which is 1 hour 40 minutes away by car. Rental cars are Uber are available from the airport.

What type of retreats does Well Being Retreat Center offer?We host a variety of yoga, mindfulness, meditation, movement, Nature appreciation, wellness, and nondual spiritual retreats. In addition, Don Oakley and Patty Bottari, directors of Well Being Retreat Center, hold monthly retreats of meditation and inquiry.

Can I stay on the property before or after a retreat?Yes. Please make prior arrangements to stay before or after a retreat. Contact patty@wellbeingcc.org

Can I stay in one of the cabins for a personal retreat?Yes. The cabins all have kitchenettes which allow you to prepare your own meals. In addition, our 160 acres of nature is supportive for personal retreats.

What type of meals are served on retreats?The retreat group leader elects whether to offer non-vegetarian or vegetarian meals on retreat. If the retreat is non-vegetarian, we also offer a vegetarian option at each meal. Meals are freshly prepared, mostly organic, and generally gluten free.

What if I have a specific dietary restriction?When you register for a retreat, you will be asked if you are allergic to any particular foods and we can generally accommodate that. If you require special foods while you are here, the cabins all have refrigerators and cooking facilities so that you can store and prepare such foods.

Are cabins available apart from retreat activities?Yes, cabins may be rented for your personal getaway or sabbatical. Find out more about our cabin rentals by clicking on the button below.

Can I bring my dog or cat or other pet to the center while on retreat or renting a cabin?No. We ask that you don't bring pets to Well Being Retreat Center.

Do you have a smoking policy?Yes. We don't allow smoking or vaping in any building or on the decks of any building.

Does Well Being Retreat Center share personal information?No, our privacy policy is that we do not share your personal information.

Is Well Being Retreat Center affiliated with any other organization?No, the sole function of Well Being Foundation is operating Well Being Retreat Center in Tazewell, Tennessee. We are an independent, unaffiliated non-profit organization.

How is Well Being Retreat Center funded?We are funded by hosting retreats, renting cabins, and by the generosity of supporting donors.

Is Well Being Retreat Center a registered non-profit organization?Yes, we are an IRS approved 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Are there volunteer opportunities at Well Being Retreat Center?Yes, we frequently invite volunteers to help out in the kitchen during retreats and periodically for work volunteer weekends helping out on projects like trail building, gardening, tree planting and landscape maintenance.

Does Well Being Retreat Center have an internship programme?Yes. We offer longer term internship opportunities during March through October. We require a minimum commitment of four weeks. Typical responsibilities might include meal preparation, gardening, housekeeping, landscape and perhaps building maintenance depending on your skills and interest. Lodging and meals are provided.
