Cultivating a Mind of Love Retreat
with Leslie Rawls (Chan Giac Xu)
October 31 - November 3, 2019
Retreat is Now Full - Wait List Only Available
Presented by the Mountain Solid Water Reflecting Sangha of Knoxville
What are we nourishing in our daily lives? Are we busy and distracted? If so, this retreat invites us to stop, step aside from our busy lives, and simply rest. Are we cultivating peace and understanding in daily life? If so, this retreat will help us rest and center so those seeds blossom more fully. Although the retreat will be largely in silence, our study and practice will rest on the Buddha’s teachings on mindfulness.

Cultivating a Mind of Love
This retreat will focus on cultivating the beauties and strengths in our hearts. Bodhisattvas are great beings who, acting from minds of love, respond to and help transform suffering. Just as suffering comes in many forms, bodhisattvas come in many forms. Looking in the mirror, we may see a bodhisattva to be. On this retreat, we will practice sitting and walking meditation with stability, so we can unveil the light of our own bodhisattva natures. We will enjoy meditation, Dharma talks, small group sharing, and walking in the glorious beauty of nature. Suitable for newcomers and experienced practitioners; all are welcome.
Check in will be at 4 pm.on Thursday October 31, 2019 and the program will end by 2 p.m. on Sunday November 3rd. Meals will be vegetarian (including organic eggs and some organic dairy in cooked dishes with cheese on the side) and are generally gluten-free. Meals include Thursday supper through Sunday lunch. Teas, coffee & snacks provided throughout. Cabins (but not Cabinettes) have equipped kitchenettes if you have "special" foods you want to bring. Cabinettes have mini-fridges.
