Honor your well-being with a weekend of rejuvenation, delicious, healthy food, and gentle, therapeutic yoga. Throughout the retreat, you can nurture your body with both nourishing food and yoga postures. You’ll learn balancing lifestyle strategies to create lasting healthy changes in your life. Your body and mind can enjoy therapeutic yoga suitable for all levels of experience. You'll get the time to pause and listen to what your heart and mind truly need and create a Vision Board of your desires.

Each day, Debbie will lead you on a personal adventure on your mat through yoga. Maybe you have tried other forms of exercise and healing, but feel something is missing. Yoga may be your answer.

Jill will introduce you to healthy lifestyle strategies for balanced eating, food shopping, home cooking, and natural living. Introducing small, meaningful changes in your life can create sustainable healthy habits. She will lead a cooking class, where you’ll learn how to make delicious, easy, healthy recipes.

You will create a personal Vision Board, setting goals for the upcoming year by having the space to truly listen to your needs.


There will be plenty of down time to relax and enjoy the 160 acres of rural Tennessee land and the 2 1/2 miles of Powell River frontage.


This retreat is suitable for everyone and no yoga experience is necessary.


Check in will be at 4 pm.on Friday February 23, 2018 and the program will end by 2 p.m. on Sunday February 25th. Meals will be vegetarian (which may include minimal eggs and dairy in cooked dishes), and are generally gluten-free. Meals include Friday supper through Sunday lunch. Teas, coffee & snacks provided throughout. Cabins (but not Cabinettes) have equipped kitchenettes if you have "special" foods you want to bring. (Cabinettes do have mini-fridges.)

Balancing work, a personal life, and maintaining a healthy, grounded lifestyle can be a challenge. Jill practices mindfulness, yoga, self-care, and connecting with nature to help balance her life. She looks forward to sharing these practices with you so that you can have a healthy, grounded, flourishing life!


Jill brings passion for helping others discover how to live a balanced life by applying over 15 years of experience as a healthy cooking instructor, yoga teacher, and certified holistic health coach. Through her journey with health issues and as a busy, single mom trying to follow her passion, she learned the physical consequences of not listening to her needs. Forced to slow down and re-evaluate her own life, she gave herself permission to strive for her goals. She does this through healthy eating, yoga, positivity, and spending time in nature.


She believes we all deserve inner peace, and knows it’s within our reach. Her goal is to educate others to integrate wellness and natural living into their daily lives.

About Debbie Phelan, C-IAYT, RYT500

Debbie has practiced and studied yoga for over 20 years, studying with prominent international and local yoga teachers.  She holds certifications with Yoga Alliance (E-RYT500 hours), is a C-IAYT yoga therapist, and is Knoxville’s only Curvy Yoga teacher.


Debbie’s interest in yoga began after her first class at the local YMCA when she realized that this practice was just what she needed in her life. She was struggling with the pressures of a high-stress job, raising teenage boys, and dealing with health issues. She attended local teacher trainings and traveled to California to study with Beth Shaw of Yogafit, which deepened her yearning to learn more about this practice that had improved her life. At that time, she had surgery and contributes her quick recovery to yoga. At a teacher training, she met Stephanie Keech, owner of Asheville Yoga School in Asheville, NC. In this school, Debbie found her home base for 18 years of study which continues to this day.


In 2016, Debbie experienced a serious accident that broke her back and foot. She had multiple surgeries including removing a blood clot through open heart surgery. Amazingly, through yoga, she is back to leading a completely normal life and teaching and practicing yoga.


Debbie's thoughts on yoga: The gentle moves of yoga support the restoration of the mind-body connection. Practice involves subtle breath work accompanied with gentle stretching movement. Benefits of a yoga-therapeutic practice may include improved posture, balance, body awareness, concentration, flexibility, range of motion, energy, and overall health as well as reduced stress and tension.


The cost for this event ranges from $285 to $425 depending on the accommodations chosen. This pricing includes tuition, lodging, snacks, and all meals during the event. Pictures of Cabins and Cabinettes are shown here.
