Well Being Retreat Center is an independent, non-denominational 501(c)3 non-profit organization that offers and hosts programs in the areas of meditation, non-dual spirituality, wellness, energy modalities, nature awareness and movement. We promote the connection between healthy soil, organic gardening and wholesome (and delicious) meals. We enjoy the silence of our rural Tennessee setting surrounded by 2 1/2 miles of frontage on the scenic Powell River. Nature abounds here. We value our relationship with the local community and enjoy meaningful relations with the Claiborne County Tourism Commission, the Nature Conservancy, Tennessee Wildlife resources Agency and our neighbors. Well Being Retreat Center initiated and continues to sponsor the County's Annual Powell River Kayak & Canoe Regatta and the Powell River Blueway Trail..

Location
Well Being Retreat Center is located 1 1/4 hour north of Knoxville. The nearest town, Tazewell, which is 20 minutes away, can provide food, gas, banking, and building materials but lacks places to socialize. In other words, the Associate Director would need to be content to live in nature, meet many interesting people who come to programs here, but not require an active in-town social scene.

The Associate Director would be provided with an on-site 2-bedroom, 1,200 square foot house (pictured)
On-site recreation choices include kayaking on the Powell River, the second largest un-dammed river in Tennessee; swimming in the 25 yard, infinity edge pool, hiking the 160 acre site, observing Nature, walking the Labyrinth, star-gazing from the hilltop and enjoying the silence here which is virtually absent of manmade sounds.
Well Being Retreat Center Facilities
We are currently holding all events at our 1,800 square foot open-air Powell River Pavilion which has a small commercially licensed kitchen, men's & women's bathroom, a sound system, electric blankets for colder weather events, and oversized picnic tables for distanced meals.

There are 11 Cabins and 6 Cabinettes with a total bed capacity of 39 (during the pandemic the bed capacity is reduced to 14 - 24 depending on the number of couples and consenting cabin mates). All the Cabins have kitchenettes and full baths.

Our Main Conference Building with a Meeting Room, Dining Room and large commercial kitchen is not currently being used due to the pandemic. Map of the Retreat Center.

We have a Library, a large Labyrinth, a Fire Circle, a one acre organic vegetable garden and fruit orchard, and a 25 yard lap pool. We are a licensed riverfront campground with full climate controlled bathrooms bathrooms nearby.
