"The Power of Attachment" by Diane Poole Heller

About Healing with Neuroscience

In DARe 3 we take a deeper look into the brain-body connection in healing early attachment wounds.  States of insecure attachment adaptations are experienced early on, and lay down implicit or body/procedural memories which are pre-cognitive and pre-verbal.   Our reactions and those of our clients may then reoccur throughout the life span in the deepest, most loving relationships.  By understanding how to access the hard-wired survival mechanism, as well as the hard-wired attachment and bonding system, we can lift and dissolve these early adaptations to create more nourishing, satisfying and healthy adult relationships!  In this workshop you will learn valuable tools to identify specific attachment orientations, how to work directly with the body using somatic practices that alliveate painful symptoms and struggles and how to "land the healthy, safe and secure attachment" with protection and safety.  You will gain knowledge about Narratives Per Styles, implications of the ACE scores, and Schema Patterns which help to bring hidden "implicit" memories up to explicit knowing.  Together we will practice Right Brain-to-Right Brain attunement, resonance and presence in live Demos and Practice Break-Out Groups, and the valuable use of Repairs.  You will learn more about the Polyvagal System and why this is so important to understand when healing attachment wounds. This course also features healing Intergenerational Wounds, Role Reversals and Use of Touch in our practices.  Based on contributions of John Bowlby, Mary Main, Mary Ainsworth, Stephen Porges, Dan Siegel, Allan Schore, Donald Winnicott and Jeffery Young as well as countless others, DARe 3 is not to be missed.

DARe 3 includes lecture, guided meditations, live Demos, practice breakouts and a multi-media learning format suitable for all learners.

About Patti Elledge, Faculty Trainer

Patti Elledge has specialized in therapeutic application of neuroscience for more than 40 years. She has a broad clinical background in developmental traumas and worked directly with babies, children and families for 25 years prior to her SE training in the late 90s. She specializes in interpersonal, social/emotional, language/cognition and sensory processing disorders, as well as early attachment disruptions. Her blending of a variety of somatic and body-mind techniques helps to treat and resolve over-coupled elements of the fight-flight-freeze that become so seemingly intractable with the essence of loving/bonding and "belonging." By accessing all parts of the nervous system and moving out of stuck, frozen or fear based relational patterns we can return to healthy functioning. This return to regulation leads us to greater sense of self, ease in relating to others, creativity, expression in the world and eventually toward our own spiritual natures. Patti has studied directly with Drs. Peter Levine, Raja Selvam and Diane Poole Heller as well as many other healers. She holds Trauma Informed Touch Certification from Kathy Kain's 2 year training and is delighted to share her wisdom in teaching Diane's pioneering work, Dynamic Attachment Re-Patterning Experience.  She delights in mentoring younger therapists to grow into their most vital and alive selves!
